The research addresses teaching strategies to promote autonomy in students with Down Syndrome at the Panamanian Institute of Special Habilitation (IPHE) in Santiago during the year 2025; the study focuses on identifying and analyzing the pedagogical practices that teachers implement to strengthen self determination and independent living skills, recognizing that inclusive education must promote equal opportunities for all students. The general objective is to describe the strategies that teachers implement to strengthen autonomy in children with Down Syndrome; the methodology used corresponds to a quantitative approach with a non-experimental design, descriptive type and cross-sectional. The results show that teachers have extensive professional experience; the most used strategies include visual routines, self-care tasks and simple decision-making; positive reinforcements are considered very effective. It is concluded that the strategies used have a positive impact on promoting autonomy, confirming the proposed hypothesis and providing empirical evidence on effective pedagogical practices to guide inclusive educational policies.
