dc.descriptionThis research aims to determine the effect of family dynamics on the learning of students with intellectual disabilities at the Institute Panameño de Habilitation Especial (IPHE) Los Santos. The study arises from the need to understand how affective, communicative, and functional aspects within the family environment influence the academic development of this student population. Three specific objectives were established: to identify the components of family dynamics that influence learning (knowledge), to analyze the relationship between family dynamics and academic performance through data collection techniques (procedure), and to propose educational intervention strategies and family guidance to improve the learning process (solution). The methodological approach of the study is mixed, allowing for a combination of quantitative and qualitative techniques. Semi-structured interviews with teachers and parents, classroom observations, and academic record reviews were conducted. The working population sample considering the same number of the population, that is, the 10 students with intellectual disabilities, 8 parents and 5 teachers from the educational center, they determined that family dynamics significantly influence the learning process of students with intellectual disabilities at the Panamanian Institute for Special Education (IPHE) in Los Santos. Factors such as emotional support, family communication, and the organization of roles within the home directly impact students' academic performance.
dc.description.abstractLa presente investigación tiene como objetivo, determinar el efecto de la dinámica familiar en el aprendizaje de los estudiantes con discapacidad intelectual, en el Instituto Panameño de Habilitación Especial (IPHE) de Los Santos. La necesidad de comprender cómo los factores afectivos, comunicativos y funcionales, dentro del entorno familiar, inciden en el desarrollo académico de esta población estudiantil. Para alcanzar este propósito, se plantearon tres objetivos específicos: identificar los componentes de la dinámica familiar que inciden en el aprendizaje (conocimiento), analizar la relación entre la dinámica familiar y el rendimiento académico mediante técnicas de recolección de datos (procedimiento), y proponer estrategias de intervención educativa y orientación familiar para mejorar el proceso de aprendizaje (solución). El enfoque metodológico de la investigación es cuantitativo, lo que permitirá obtener datos medibles y generalizables sobre la relación entre la dinámica familiar y el aprendizaje de los estudiantes con discapacidad intelectual. Se emplearán cuestionarios a docentes y padres de familia, observaciones en el aula y revisión de registros académicos. La población de trabajo se seleccionó a través de una muestra simple, tomando en cuenta la misma cantidad de la población, es decir los 15 estudiantes con discapacidad intelectual, 15 padres de familia y 5 docentes del centro educativo. Esto permitió determinar que la dinámica familiar influye significativamente en el proceso de aprendizaje de los estudiantes con discapacidad intelectual del IPHE de Los Santos. Factores como el apoyo emocional, la comunicación familiar y la organización de roles en el hogar inciden directamente en el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes.
