dc.descriptionThe research project, entitled "Applicable Visual Aids to Improve Oral Communication. Students with Autism. Nuevo Vedado School," has the general objective of verifying the effectiveness of visual aids in promoting the development of oral communication among students with autism at Nuevo Vedado School, located in the district of David. The specific objectives are to identify the main difficulties in oral communication experienced by students with autism at Nuevo Vedado School; to describe the types of visual aids that can be applied to strengthen these communication skills; and to analyze the level of progress achieved in oral communication by students with autism after implementing visual aids. The methodology used is an action research design with an observational approach. The study is qualitative in nature, and descriptive in scope. The study consisted of four (4) students with autism from preschool at Nuevo Vedado School. A field observation sheet was used to collect data, allowing progress and changes to be recorded. The results show that, after applying the visual supports, the students with autism showed significant improvements in their oral communication skills, demonstrating greater social interaction, clearer verbal expression, and a more effective understanding of everyday messages and situations.
dc.description.abstractLa investigación titulada “Apoyos visuales aplicables para mejorar la comunicación oral. Estudiantes con autismo. Escuela Nuevo Vedado” tiene como objetivo general comprobar la efectividad que poseen los apoyos visuales para favorecer el desarrollo de la comunicación oral en los estudiantes con autismo que forman parte de la Escuela Nuevo Vedado, ubicada en el distrito de David. Los objetivos específicos consisten en identificar las principales dificultades en la comunicación oral que presentan los estudiantes con autismo de la Escuela Nuevo Vedado; describir los tipos de apoyos visuales que pueden aplicarse para fortalecer dichas habilidades comunicativas; y analizar el nivel de progreso alcanzado en la comunicación oral de los estudiantes con autismo luego de implementar los apoyos visuales. La metodología empleada corresponde a un diseño de investigación-acción con enfoque observacional. Según su naturaleza, el estudio es cualitativo, y de acuerdo con su alcance, descriptivo. La población estuvo integrada por cuatro (4) estudiantes con autismo pertenecientes al nivel preescolar de la Escuela Nuevo Vedado. Para la recolección de datos, se utilizó como instrumento una hoja de observación de campo, la cual permitió registrar los avances y cambios observados. Los resultados obtenidos reflejan que, tras la aplicación de los apoyos visuales, los estudiantes con autismo evidenciaron mejoras notorias en sus habilidades de comunicación oral, demostrando mayor interacción social, una expresión verbal más clara y una comprensión más efectiva de los mensajes y situaciones cotidianas.
