The present work, represented within a qualitative research design, seeks to describe the therapeutic value of stories to help children understand their own emotions when faced with a conflict that is difficult to handle. This research is based on the presentation of a series of unpublished nontraditional stories within the psychotherapeutic process, within the framework of a case study of 2 girls and a boy between the ages of 7 to 10 years, who presented emotional conflicts due to lived situations that affected the management of their emotions and behavior. These stories were presented to the children in 5 sessions of the 12 corresponding to the therapeutic plan developed for each one; being narrated by means of the "Kamichibai" paper theater technique, and later analyzed with them through the activity guide, created, having a record of the answers given by the subjects of attention. The work carried out facilitated the children object of this study to have a better understanding of their emotions in the face of the problem they presented, so that they could restructure their thinking and improve behavioral aspects.
