dc.description | Nowadays, state-of-the-art, high-tech commercial ventilators are designed to provide a constant and accurate flow, thus ensuring the precision of ventilatory treatment. Therefore, the objective of this research is to evaluate the flow control in a prototype electro-pneumatic unit for mechanical ventilator using a PID versus a Fuzzy Logic method. Specifically, the intention is to determine if there is evidence of superior performance of fuzzy logic control over PID in this application. For this reason, the methodology is based on measurement and numerical analysis. The design of this research is quasi-experimental, laboratory. Thus, samples were taken, at convenience, of the data of the variables, under a pre-established scheme and conditions. In terms of the type of study, it is considered quantitative, experimental and applied. The main results show that the settling time in the PID control is shorter than in the fuzzy logic control, however, the fuzzy control presents an improvement in the volume of 900 mL, which highlights the efficiency of this controller in conditions of higher demand. On the other hand, in relation to stability, according to the Nyquist analysis, the curve of the fuzzy control is farther away from the origin and therefore from the point (-1, 0j) compared to the curve of the PID control, which indicates a better stability and a more robust system against variations or disturbances. | |
dc.description.abstract | En la actualidad, los ventiladores comerciales de vanguardia y alta tecnología están diseñados para suministrar un flujo constante y preciso, asegurando así la precisión del tratamiento ventilatorio. Es por ello que el objetivo de esta investigación es evaluar el control de flujo en un prototipo de unidad electroneumática para ventilador mecánico mediante un método PID versus uno de Lógica Difusa. Específicamente, se busca determinar si se obtienen evidencias de ser superior el desempeño del control de lógica difusa sobre el PID en dicha aplicación. Por tal motivo, la metodología está fundamentada en la medición y análisis numérico. El diseño de esta investigación es cuasiexperimental, de laboratorio. De modo que, se tomaron muestras, a conveniencia, de los datos de las variables, bajo un esquema y condiciones preestablecidas. En cuanto al tipo de estudio, es considerado cuantitativo, experimental y aplicado. Los principales resultados muestran que, el tiempo de asentamiento en el control PID es más corto que en el control por lógica difusa, no obstante, el control difuso presenta una mejora en el volumen de 900 mL, lo que destaca la eficiencia de dicho controlador en condiciones de mayor demanda. Por otra parte, con relación a la estabilidad, de acuerdo al análisis de Nyquist, la curva del control difuso está más alejada del origen y por ende del punto (-1, 0j) en comparación a la curva del control PID, lo que indica una mejor estabilidad y un sistema más robusto frente a variaciones o perturbaciones. | |
