The main objective of this study is to analyze the influence of finger painting on students with Down syndrome at the primary level who attend the IPHE (Panamanian Institute for Special Education) in Santiago de Veraguas. This aims to highlight its importance and impact. A descriptive, non-experimental, cross-sectional methodology was used to evaluate teachers' perceptions through a structured survey consisting of 12 questions, administered to 10 special education teachers who work with students with Down syndrome. The study concluded that finger painting does have a positive influence on students with this condition because it stimulates their senses, improves coordination, and enhances non-verbal communication—aspects that are fundamental to their learning process. The implementation of finger painting in the teaching process for residents with Down syndrome represents a pedagogical strategy that has a significant impact on their motor, socio-emotional, and cognitive development. This technique is recognized as stimulating both fine and gross motor skills; therefore, it strengthens attention and concentration, as well as promoting emotional expression and fostering social interaction. This can be consolidated as a highly effective strategy that can be incorporated into the teaching process to improve these students' learning capacity and, likewise, their motivation to participate.
