| dc.description | This study aimed to evaluate the influence of lipreading on students with hearing impairments at the IPHE (Panamanian Institute for Special Education) in Santiago, Veraguas, in order to recognize the importance of this technique in strengthening communication and access to learning for this population. A descriptive methodology with a cross-sectional experimental design was used, allowing for analysis at a single point in time without manipulating variables. The sample consisted of teachers who collected information based on their experience with this method. Lipreading significantly and favorably influences the learning process for students with hearing impairments. This is because the teachers apply it regularly, thus reflecting its impact on both academic comprehension and the development of communicative skills, and therefore, on the social skills of these students. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Este estudio tiene como objetivo el de evaluar la influencia de la lectura labiofacial en los estudiantes con discapacidad auditiva del IPHE de Santiago Veraguas, para reconocer la importancia de esta técnica en el fortalecimiento de la comunicación y el acceso al aprendizaje en esta población. Se utiliza una metodología descriptiva con un diseño experimental de tipo transaccional, lo que permite el análisis en un solo momento sin llegar a manipular las variables. La muestra de este estudio se conforma por 10 docentes, quienes aportaron información en base a su experiencia con este método. De esto se concluye que la lectura labiofacial influye de manera significativa y es favorable en el proceso de enseñanza de los estudiantes con discapacidad auditiva, y esto se debe a que el docente lo aplica de manera regular, reflejando así su impacto tanto en la comprensión académica como en el desarrollo de habilidades comunicativas, y por lo tanto, en la habilidad social de estos estudiantes. | |
