The connection between physical exercise and psychological well-being is undeniable. Physical activity releases endorphins, which are neurotransmitters that act as natural pain relievers and generators of well-being, this translates into an instant improvement in mood. When performing physical exercise, the brain also benefits greatly since the growth of new brain cells is stimulated through neurogenesis. In addition, there is an increase in brain capacity, what we know as neuroplasticity. When you incorporate enjoyable physical exercise routines; whether walking, jumping, using resistance bands, or practicing yoga, it not only has positive effects on physical health but also directly influences psychological well-being. In fact, these types of practices almost automatically contribute to reducing levels of anxiety and depression, thus improving emotional quality of life. The main objective of this investigation is to compare people who engage in regular physical exercise with people who do not engage in regular physical exercise, and to analyze the impact this has on their psychological well-being. This was possible through a quantitative, comparative and cross-sectional type of study.
