Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common neurodevelopmental difficulties in school-age children. ADHD is characterized by persistent problems of attention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity that affect learning, relationships, and family life. For this reason, the knowledge parents have about the disorder is very important, as it helps in early detection and appropriate management at home. However, many families still lack essential information about its causes, symptoms, and forms of intervention, which makes effective support difficult. This research aims to determine the level of knowledge parents have about ADHD. The study followed a quantitative, descriptive, and non experimental approach to observe the phenomenon without intervening in it. The sample consisted of 12 parents selected by convenience. A 17-item survey was used to assess conceptual knowledge, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment, educational and social impact, sources of information, school participation, strategies applied at home, and the support they receive at school. The results showed that parents have moderate but insufficient knowledge about ADHD; only 8% reported understanding the disorder well, while 92% showed partial knowledge. In summary, it is necessary to implement stable and permanent training programs for parents that strengthen both their knowledge and practical skills, and that improve communication between school and home to ensure adequate support for children with ADHD.
