This research aims to analyze the impact of a specific training method for strengthening the lower body in Shotokan Karate practitioners at the Jion Karate Do academy in Panama. The need for this research arose after identifying recurring weaknesses in the students' stability, strength, coordination, and postural control—factors that affect the correct execution of the three basic Shotokan stances: zenkutsu-dachi, kiba-dachi, and kokutsu-dachi. These stances constitute the fundamental technical basis for proper performance in kata, kihon, and kumite. Based on this problem, a methodological proposal was developed, supported by specialized karate literature, principles of motor learning neuroscience, and contemporary approaches to sports training. The study considered key concepts such as neuroplasticity, motor control, movement automation, and physiological adaptation to training, which explain how the body and nervous system are modified through consistent practice. The methodology was structured in three phases: initial diagnosis of the students' physical and technical condition, implementation of a training method specifically designed to strengthen the lower body, and a final comparative evaluation. The intervention program integrated strength, endurance, coordination, plyometric, and postural control exercises, selected to address the biomechanical demands of the Shotokan style.
