| dc.description | This educational project, developed by Samuel Juárez and Oriel Ruiz for the Universidad Especializada de las Américas (UDELAS), presents a training plan in first aid and risk situation identification aimed at the staff of the Fundación Nutre Hogar in Santiago, Veraguas. This initiative arises from the vulnerability of the infant population served and the province's exposure to climate risks, such as floods and landslides, as well as domestic and road accidents. The central objective was to strengthen the theoretical and practical skills of administrative, operational, and volunteer staff to ensure an immediate and effective response to emergencies. The methodology used included an initial diagnosis through a pre test, followed by face-to-face workshops based on simulations and hands-on learning of critical maneuvers such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in adults and neonates, hemorrhage control, choking management, and burn care. The results showed a significant improvement in the response capacity and confidence of the participants. The project concludes that continuous training is essential to consolidate an institutional culture of prevention. It is recommended to perform periodic training updates and keep emergency equipment (first aid kits) properly stocked to ensure the sustainability of learning and the comprehensive protection of the children and staff of the foundation, mitigating the impact of potential adverse events in the institutional environment. | |
