The objective of this research was to evaluate the current state of first aid care during medical emergencies at the Rómulo Arrocha School, located in Santiago de Veraguas. The study adopted a non-experimental, descriptive design with a mixed approach, with cross-sectional application. The population was made up of teachers, administrative staff and fourth, fifth and sixth grade students, selecting a sample of 137 participants through non-probabilistic sampling. Two instruments were used for data collection: a structured questionnaire aimed at the educational community and a semi-structured interview applied to the management staff. The results showed that, although 94.9% of those surveyed recognize the concept of first aid, only 24.8% know how to act in the event of fainting and 21.6% in the event of an injury, which reflects insufficient preparation. Likewise, 73.7% indicated that the school has a first aid kit, but doubts persist about its content and location. Positively, 97.1% consider it very useful to carry out training and drills, and 85.4% believe that they should involve the entire educational community. These findings confirm the need to implement continuous training programs, update resources, and strengthen institutional organization to ensure safe and resilient school environments.
