Item Modalidad virtual y su eficacia en el desempeño académico de los estudiantes de radiología, Udelistas, Chiriquí(Universidad Especializada de las Américas, 2026-03-15)This study, titled "Virtual Modality and Its Effectiveness in the Academic Performance of Radiology Students at UDELAS, Chiriquí," aims to evaluate the impact of virtual learning on the academic performance of second-year students enrolled in the Bachelor's Degree in Medical Radiology and Medical Imaging at UDELAS, Chiriquí. The specific objectives are to: describe the main academic and technological challenges encountered by these students in a virtual environment; identify the limitations in hands-on interaction and participation in clinical experiences; and examine observable effects on their academic performance resulting from virtual instruction. The study employed a non-experimental, cross sectional, and observational design, as no variables were manipulated and data were collected at a single point in time using field observations and structured questionnaires. A mixed-methods approach was adopted, integrating both qualitative and quantitative techniques with a descriptive and correlational scope. The population comprised students in the program, with the sample focusing specifically on second-year cohorts. A structured survey was the primary instrument for data collection. Findings indicate that, despite the various challenges experienced during the shift to virtual learning, this modality positively influenced students’ academic outcomes. These results highlight advantages that should be taken into account when shaping future educational strategies.
