Item Validación del cuestionario de afrontamiento al estrés oncológico (CAEO)en pacientes con cáncer en Panamá(REDES)Esta investigación se centra en la validación del Cuestionario de Afrontamiento al Estrés Oncológico (CAEO) en el Instituto Oncológico Nacional (ION), en la ciudad de Panamá. El objetivo es validar el CAEO en pacientes oncológicos a partir del Cuestionario de Afrontamiento al Estrés (CAE) de Sandin, B. y Chorot, P. (2003). Se aplicó en una muestra de 4 pacientes y 5 psicooncólogos para la validez de contenido, constructo y de criterio. Los resultados demostraron una clara estructura factorial de siete factores que representaban los siete estilos básicos de afrontamiento. Las correlaciones entre los factores fueron bajas o moderadas. Los coeficientes de fiabilidad de Cronbach para las 7 subescalas variaron entre 0,64 y 0,92 (media = 0,79). Un análisis factorial de segundo orden evidenció una estructura de dos factores, que representaban los estilos de afrontamiento racional y focalizado en la emoción. El instrumento final, queda como una herramienta válida (0.70) y confiable con 18 items (0.93), sin embargo es importante destacar que los factores más robustos para el análisis son focalizando en la solución del problema, evitación, autofocalización negativa y reevaluación positiva.Item Características sociodemográficas que inciden en la resiliencia de pacientes con cáncer(REDES)This work is based on investigating the effect of socio-demographic characteristics on resilience in cancer patients. Resilience refers to the capacity to recover from adversity and even learn and emerge stronger from them. General objective: to know the effect of socio-demographic characteristics that affect the resilience of cancer patients. Methods: This is a descriptive type of research, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design, with a total sample of 61 adult patients diagnosed with cancer, randomly chosen from waiting rooms. Results: 61 patients were included with a frequency of 70% female and 30% male. By age group, 31% are less than 50 years old, 46% are within the ages of 50 and 70 years and 23% are older than 70 years of age. By income group, 41% have a monthly income ranging from 0 to 299.00 dollars a month, 23% between 300.00 and 699.00 dollars a month and 36% have a monthly income of 700.00 dollars or more. By religious belief group, 93% are Catholic, 4% are Evangelical and 1% are Jehovah’s Witnesses. 6% of them live alone and 93% live accompanied. It was observed that there are statistically significant differences between the average score of resilience and the variables: income, religion, whether or not the person lives alone or not, civil status and gender.
