Es un estudio descriptivo transversal de la violencia escolar, cuyos instrumentos
principales surgen del análisis de la bibliografía consultada más relevante, en las cuatro
escuelas primarias públicas del Corregimiento de San Felipe. En este Corregimiento, que
tiene el mayor índice de violencia en la Ciudad de Panamá, se seleccionó una muestra
representativa (319) de los estudiantes de V y VI grados de Educación Básica General.
El objetivo de la investigación es conocer la forma en que se presenta por parte de los
docentes, los familiares y los alumnos el fenómeno de la violencia en la opinión de las
víctimas, los agresores y los testigos en los momentos actuales. Porque se observa que, con
transformaciones sencillas en la metodología y las normas, pueden darse grandes resultados
en el control de este problema y con ello de la violencia en la sociedad que se aprecia como
alarmante y creciente.
También habría que tomar medidas en otros sectores de la sociedad como la
seguridad, los medios de comunicación y las autoridades políticas y administrativas. Sin
embargo, las escuelas no pueden eludir la gran responsabilidad que les corresponde de
entregar un panameño capaz de estar en todo momento al control de sus emociones y ser un
promotor del diálogo y la utilización constructiva del conflicto.
Desde los cuatro años en adelante, el Estado comienza de manera formal la atención
de los niños en las escuelas por lo cual esta etapa esencial será decisiva para la atención de
las dificultades emocionales; a la vez que iniciar en estas etapas con la enseñanza del idioma
Inglés y el uso de las nuevas tecnologías que le dan la sensación de logro y le estimulan a
mantenerse estudiando.
This is a descriptive cross sectional study on school violence, whose main instruments arise from the analysis of the most relevant consulted bibliography in the four public elementary schools of the borough of San Felipe. In this borough which has the highest violence rate in the city of Panama. A representative sample (319) of students of the V and VI levels of the Basic General Education was selected. The objective of the research is to know the way in which it is approached by the teachers, family and students the phenomenon of violence in the opinion of the victims, the aggressors and the witnesses at present times. Because it is observed that with simple transformations in the methodology and the rules, great results can be attained in the control of this problem and with the same of the violence in society which is seen as alarming and increasing. Also another type of measures should be taken in other sectors of the society such as security, mass media and the political and administrative authorities. Nevertheless, schools cannot elude the great responsibility of training a Panamanian citizen capable at all times of keeping emotional control and being a promoter of dialogue and the constructive utilization of conflict. Since the fourth year of age onwards, the State begins in formal way the attention of children in schools, thus this crucial stage shall be decisive for the attention of the emotional difficulties; at the same time that to begin at this stage with the teaching of English and the use of new technologies give them the feeling of attainment and stimulate to keep in the study.
