| dc.description | The thesis is entitled "Perception of the availability and access of rice, in the community of Sabanagrande, Province of Los Santos". It was encouraged to carry out this study due to the changes that are occurring in terms of availability and production of rice due to the climatic effects. Therefore, the objective pursued was "To know the perception of the residents of the village of Sabanagrande about the availability of rice and its local production". The hypothesis that was raised was: "The rice production will be enough for the residents of the village of Sabanagrande in the Province of Los Santos". For the study, the non-experimental design, qualitative technique, descriptive study, and population older than 20 years who have lived at least five years in the community of Sabanagrande, probabilistic sampling and the variables were perception, availability and production of rice. The results that were achieved were: the people of Sabanagrande perceive that the production is good, therefore there is no shortage, and access to it is good, through stores, grocery stores, among others. There is no cultivation of their own; at least that is what the people surveyed maintained. The conclusions reached in this study were: The rice is one of the most important foods in the world, from Panama and the community of Sabanagrande. It has great nutrients and minerals. The majority of the inhabitants of Sabanagrande are not producers, they are consumers, rice is available for the inhabitants, and the production is good in the community. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | El estudio “Percepción sobre la disponibilidad y acceso al arroz, en la comunidad de Sabanagrande, Provincia de Los Santos”, tiene el propósito de “conocer la percepción de los moradores de esa comunidad sobre la disponibilidad de arroz y su producción local”. La hipótesis alternativa que se planteó fue: “Hay disponibilidad y acceso al arroz para los moradores del corregimiento de Sabanagrande de la provincia de Los Santos” y la hipótesis nula que se presentó fue: “No hay disponibilidad y acceso al arroz para los moradores del corregimiento de Sabanagrande de la provincia de Los Santos”. Para esta investigación se empleó un diseño no experimental, con técnica cualitativa. Se manejó un muestreo probabilístico; y las variables empleadas fueron: percepción, disponibilidad y producción de arroz. Es un estudio descriptivo, donde participó la población mayor de 20 años que hayan vivido por lo menos cinco años en la comunidad objeto de investigación. A este grupo de personas (31) se aplicó la encuesta. Al finalizar la investigación, se logró los siguientes resultados: la percepción sobre la producción es buena, por tanto, no hay escasez; que el acceso a dicha producción es positivo, a través de tiendas, abarroterías entre otros. No hay cultivos propios, por lo menos así lo sostuvieron las personas consultadas. Las conclusiones a que se llegaron son: el arroz es uno de los alimentos más importantes del mundo, de Panamá y de la comunidad de Sabanagrande. Además, tiene importantes nutrientes y minerales. La mayoría de los habitantes de Sabanagrande no son productores, son consumidores y el arroz está disponible en todo momento para los moradores en todo momento. | en_US |
