In the development of this research, a mixed type approach was taken, in which both qualitative and quantitative data are collected, in terms of the type of study, it has one of the descriptive, explanatory, correlational type, since it seeks to explain, study and describe the main characteristics of the phenomenon being studied. For the sample, the participation of 58 inhabitants of the District of La Mesa was taken, to whom a survey was subsequently applied and thus determine their perception of the subject in question. With the results obtained in this investigation it was possible to demonstrate that, if there is a close relationship between social factors and the development of criminal behaviors and where it was evidenced that the factors that most influence an individual are the family, the environment in which develops a person, friends, school dropout and others.La presente investigación está orientada al análisis de la relación, que se da entre los factores sociales y las conductas delictivas, para llevar a cabo esta investigación se tomó como punto de estudio al distrito de La Mesa, en la provincia de Veraguas, dentro de los objetivos principales que sustentan la investigan esta determinar cuáles son aquellos factores que mayormente se asocian con la comisión de hechos delictivos, de igual manera conocer cuánto saben las personas acerca de estos temas y que tratamiento es el más conveniente para que se le brindarle a las personas y así prevenir futuras conductas. En el desarrollo de esta investigación se tomó un enfoque tipo mixto, en el cual se recolectan datos tanto cualitativos como cuantitativos, en cuanto al tipo de estudio, la misma cuenta con uno del tipo descriptiva, explicativa, correlacional, puesto que se busca explicar, estudiar y describir las principales características del fenómeno que se está estudiando. Para la muestra se tomó la participación de 58 habitantes del distrito de La Mesa a los cuales posteriormente se les aplico una encuesta y así determinar su percepción acerca del tema en cuestión.
